See Some of our Favourite Journeys

We know Norway like our own back pockets, here are some of our personal favourites - guaranteed experiences out of the ordinary.

Experiencing what matters by going slow

Since moving to Norway from the UK in 2016, Danny has truly learned to appreciate Norway as the land of 'kos' - a truly special, yet intangible concept.

We all strive to find new meaning in the new normal and for Danny travelling slow is the perfect way to take stock, embrace 'kos' and appreciate what is around him.

Embark on cultural and culinary experiences

Thanks to the Scandinavian food revolution of the last few years, traditional dishes and their ingredients are back, looking cooler and tasting fresher than ever. Did you know that Norway has 20 restaurants with a total of 23 stars in the Michelin guide? Or that Norwegians drink the most coffee in the world (after the Finns)?

Our food heritage is a part of our cultural identity and a valuable factor in empowering and enabling participation in Norwegian society. Eating and drinking your way through Norway is the perfect Foodie-adventure.

Experience the realm of Norwegian folklore

Norway has a long and diverse history which can be found in the small villages and nature along the coast and countryside. Mari grew up in Beitostølen, close to Skåbu – Norway’s oldest village (and the highest settlement in Northern Europe). Here our guests can immerse themselves in the realm of Norwegian folklore while staying at an incredible family mountain lodge with an excellent kitchen, warm atmosphere and modern facilities.

"Up Norway planned an 8-day trip for our group—9 family members ranging in age from 16 to 80. They came up with an itinerary that suited us perfectly. Fantastic hotels and and a mix of activities. Everything went smoothly, but they were available when we needed them (like when one of us left a suitcase at a hotel!). Love their eco-conscious approach and would definitely recommend them.

"My wife was talking to a friend several months ago and she was telling her about a trip her and her husband had taken a year ago to Norway, using Up Norway to make their plans for them. We decided it sounded like a great trip so we utilized Up Norway to make our plans for us and we couldn't have been happier. We had a few discussions with them and told them that we liked to be moderately active, enjoyed seeing as much of the country as possible without being rushed, enjoy good food, coffee shops and nice places to stay. Up Norway put together the perfect trip staying within our time frame and hit on all our desires. We stayed in Oslo, a charming farm to table upscale B&B, a fantastic fishing village, an amazing resort at the end of a fjord surrounded by towering mountains and a night in a mid-size ocean front town. Each place was unique and I couldn't even begin to describe each one. We traveled by train, private car & ferries. The drivers we had with the private cars were a great part of our trip and provided a ton of information and went way out of their way to make our travel extremely easy & enjoyable. The ferries and train were also wonderful, The scenery from both was always amazing and it made for an extremely stress free journey. The recommendations from Up Norway were spot on and the activities they planned for us at each stop were wonderful. We were able to download our trip plans to an app on our phones which provided us a day by day itinerary with extremely detailed information to make our travel very easy. Of course we wish we had more time to explore on our trip but that's what next time will be for. We would highly recommend visiting Norway and utilizing the services provided by Up Norway.

"Recommend 100%. Up Norway people were very attentive and our trip went incredibly smoothly. First time in Norway- we wanted a tailored experience and time built in so we could visit family who we had never met before. They tailored a trip for us to see specific things that we were interested in and time to visit family. We experienced the region where our ancestors came from, and it was absolutely incredible. Even though the weather was rainy, everything was incredibly positive. Do this instead of a huge tour ship!!!
