"We can’t thank Up Norway enough our gratitude is as high as the highest fjord and as deep as the Norwegian sea floor. Vidar and the team planned our entire trip on remarkably short notice, and somehow it still felt flawlessly put together. Our only regret is not having more time to see and do even more!
The personal touches made all the difference for us that made the whole experience feel truly special.
We will absolutely be back, and Up Norway will be our first call when we start planning. Already telling friends back home and abroad to book their next trip through them.
Highly, highly recommend.

"Highly recommend Up Norway for an adventure that is tailored to YOU. We had the most amazing trip in May 2026 curated by Up Norway. They nailed it. They took into account our travel preferences including minimum nights stay for each location. They truly took time to understand who we are and what motivates our explorations...setting up the perfect personal guides and experiences in each location. We were amazed not only by the quality of our outings at every stop, but we were quite taken with the quality, passion and expertise of every single one of our private guides. Up Norway included some experiences we didn't request that turned out to be true highlights during of our trip, including 29|2 Aurland and Frau Marius Til Elise. Vidar was such a pleasure to work with...easy to contact and very responsive...and he checked in on us regularly as we traveled across the weeks...he was a delight. We are still buzzing from our adventure and will carry these memories for a lifetime.

"Up Norway helped us plan a terrific 11 day visit to western & central Norway Sept. 2026. Their planning team offered great suggestions about where to stay, what to do etc. Once the plans were in place, they booked everything for us - no worries! We had all the reservation numbers, tickets etc.that we needed on the Trip Planner app on our iPhone. Everything went like clockwork - no hitches, glitches or surprises. The level of service was definitely 5 stars plus.

"After returning home from our 15-day adventure in Norway, my wife and I agreed that we could never have planned a trip as amazing—and nearly perfect—as the one Up Norway created for us. It offered a perfect balance of cities, nature, culture, and breathtaking Norwegian scenery. This was our first time using a professional tour company to manage nearly every detail. We tend to be DIYers, and we could have made the same hotel reservations. I suspect Up Norway’s connections guaranteed the string of great rooms we received in Oslo, Bergen and Trondheim – each one a historically significant hotel with world-class service.
Using the company’s online tool, we created a wish list of the kind of experiences we hoped to have, then real people took over. Our previous exposure to Norway was day trips from cruise ships. Up Norway also arranged private tours we would have never been able to otherwise experience.
At Finse, the small village at the highest point on the Bergen Line, the hotel manager spent several hours with us relating the history of the rail line and tunnels, then hiking with us into the high mountains around us. In Kalvåg, a tiny fishing village, we were booked into a room in a former fisherman’s house. The family patriarch spent an afternoon strolling with us around the village telling us its rich history and connection to the sea.
We are lovers of Edvard Greig’s music, so Up Norway booked us into a noon concert at the site of his home at Troldhaugen in Bergen. These small touches are the kind of things we would never have been able to arrange from so far away in the U.S.
Using a trip planning app, every detail of our 15-days was dropped into a day-by-day schedule, including where we would meet our guides, where drivers would pick us up, and every single bit of transportation information for our MANY trains, ferries and even an in-country flight. When rare glitches happened, an in-app message from Up Norway people would give us a heads up. YES, we could have used the same app ourselves to plan the trip. But we would never been able to juggle the small details of train changes and ferry hopping required to reach our more remote stops.
And to be honest, the train and ferry segments were part of why we wanted to revisit Norway. Some of the country’s incredible scenery can best be viewed from one of its amazing rail cars or ferries.
In the end, it was the amazing group of people at Up Norway that made this trip one of our best travel experiences. It started with initial conversations with our travel curator, Helene, who actively listened and asked questions about what we considered “musts” for our trip. She then added the kind of extras she thought would take us off the beaten track.
Her suggestions included Røros, a mining town that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Kalvåg, a well-preserved coastal fishing village. We would never have found these gems on our own.
Once our wish list was built, Katja took over the massive task of booking every single element of the trip – hotels, travel, guides, etc. Her work was flawless and she was in frequent contact with us during the process to make small adjustments.
We seldom repeat an overseas travel destination, but we still have the far northern reaches of Norway to discover. We won’t hesitate one second to ask the wonderful people at Up Norway to build that adventure, too.
“Incredible to be able to experience Lofoten this way and all together a fantastic experience. The night at Lofoten Food Studio, VIP-treatment at Unstad Arctic surf were highlights. Kristian was a superb host and bus driver Ståle a star! We have learnt about local history and culture - and gained knowledge we would not have gotten if we had traveled on our own".
