Why Norway?

Why Norway? Oh, where to begin. The glaciers. The aurora. The skiing. The fjords. The beaches (no, seriously). All year round, there are amazing authentic experiences to be had, and as local experts and travel curators we love to tailor perfect incentive escapes. What’s more? Lonely Planet rated Norway one of the best countries to travel to in 2022. They said, ”Norway is almost unfairly blessed in terms of natural beauty. And it’s also leading the charge on sustainability, green tech, and cultural highlights”

What's the Nordic Way?

The economic system of the Nordic Model makes for a trust-based community, the foundation for creativity and technological innovation. On top of that, the Norwegian connection to nature paves the path toward a healthy ecological lifestyle for any corporate structure. Several of our incentive journeys immerses clients in this ‘Nordic way’.

For example, a seamless 8-day end-to-end incentive journey taking groups from Oslo to the Western Fjords and then on to the northern Lofoten Islands can inspire and enrich travellers by showcasing Nordic living through encounters with Norwegian nature and culture.

As a three-fold immersive experience, it explores:

  • How do Norwegians cultivate environmental sustainability through their cultural & art history?
  • How do Norwegians connect with their raw & wild landscapes?
  • How do communities, not just survive, but thrive in the harsh and beautiful Arctic?

Combining high technology with a human touch, Up Norway’s journeys are ideal for corporate clients looking to bring their teams closer together and heighten the overall value of their company.

Journey through Norway for boundary-pushing travel designers

On request from Georgina Coke, founder of the Insider Collective, we designed a journey for 10 thought leaders within sustainable luxury travel. Included in their experience was a mini-conference at the world's most sustainable furniture factory The Plus by Vestre where the guest speakers included innovators within sustainable development such as Polestar, Othalo and Feddie Ocean Distillery. Their journey included elements such as guiding at the Kongsvinger Women’s Museum, drinks at the Munch Museum's Tranen cocktail bar, introduction to local living on a cruise in the Hjørundfjord, culinary experiences at Nonsvik Farm, seasafari to Skotholmen Island and the Kitchen on the Edge of the World at Holmen Lofoten.

Workation in Åndalsnes for insurance company Storebrand

A team of 11 travelled by train from Oslo - Åndalsnes including the spectacular Rauma Railway and used this slow way of travel as an opportunity to reflect upon what they wanted to get out of their journey. They were welcomed warmly at mountain lodge Aak, and invited for a guided e-cyling trip Up Scenic Route Trollstigen and a challenging hike to the magnificent Rampestreken viewpoint. Meals were enjoyed around the community table accommopanied with stories by a crackling fireplace. After a productive morning, the journey ended with the Romsdalen Gondola and lunch at the mountain top before returning by rail to the capital.

Teambuilding at The North Cape for tech solutions company Forte Digital

After a period of strong growth, start-up Forte Digital wanted to gather their fresh team of 75 colleagues for a team building adventure. On their first day, guests were invited to participate in activities such as ATV-safari, deep sea fishing and sea rafting, before a dinner event was held in a large sami-inspired lavvo. On day 2, the group was split into teams and competed in a Destination 71° North competition inspired by the reality TV-series and led by program host Tom Stiansen.

Department Autumn Kick-off for Norwegian bank DNB

This department of 24 colleagues requested a corporate program within short proximity from Oslo where the team could reconnect after a long period of remote work. Their two-day kick-off included experiences around Norway’s largest lake Mjøsa; tasting at the historical Atlungstad aquavit distillery, and a farm stay at Hoel Manor with Farmen and Mesternes Mester inspired team activities, local storytelling and food.
