Meet Nina from InRetreat
Nina Butler grew up in the South African wilderness, roaming barefoot beneath sunny skies and in awe of the earth’s wonders. As a high-school dropout, she traded the classroom for a yacht skipper’s qualification and began working on private yachts in the Mediterranean at just 16 years old. This experience, the ultimate ‘university of life,’ led her into various culinary, viticultural, spiritual, and artistic pursuits worldwide.
Eventually, she returned to formal education, earning a Doctorate in Philosophy in 2015. Soon thereafter, she launched a start-up offering bespoke, multilingual yoga training online, which flowered into InRetreat. This boutique travel business curates once-of-a-kind yoga, wellness, and adventure retreats in leading eco-destinations around the world.
Nina has been teaching yoga since 2010 and is trained in Sivananda, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and Yin. Her unique style of yoga blends accessible, dynamic asana with personal transformation, poetry, music, and inspirational themes that bring meaning to movement and invite connection to nature and our communities. Nina is now based in Oslo, Norway.
Each retreat aims to create a profound connection between participants and the natural world, fostering a deeper appreciation for the environment and promoting sustainable practices. Accommodations are chosen not only for their comfort but also for their commitment to sustainability, to ensure that your stay is as gentle on the planet as it is rejuvenating for your soul.
