Picnic at Sørenga Seawater Pool

The triumphing winner of our Easter quiz competition was Peruvian Paola Marius. She won a "Taste of Local Secrets"-experience in Oslo including a stay at the Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel. Here she shares her experience.

Our room in the Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel was really nice and we had a great view from the top floor. We were surprised with a take-away goodie bag to bring along on our walk through the palace gardens and down to Vippa, Oslo’s new food market by the fjord. Vippa was amazing, we didn't know that this place existed and would definitely love to come back to try other dishes.

I've never been into a medieval festival before so I was excited about this experience at Akershus Fortress. There were tons of activities and a band playing traditional music. We passed the art project SALT, and brought our picnic basket to the Sørenga fjord pool. The picnic presentation with the blanket was really nice and above our expectations. The weather was hot and it was great to be able to enjoy the picnic at sun set when others started to leave.

Having drinks at the Summit Bar was a nice way to end the day since the view is pretty amazing. In summertime you can actually look into the city and the fjords so we thought it was a perfect ending for the day.

Thank you so much for the experience! It was better than we expected.
