Creating a truly unique aural experience, the world’s only Ice Music Festival returns for a trailblazing 13th year. Located in the idyllic mountain home of Geilo in Norway, under the watchful eye of the mighty Hallingskarvet Plateau - the Ice Music Festival’s aesthetics, music and nature, melt together under the first full moon of the year. Constructed and formed exclusively from naturally harvested ice and snow, the Festival is a tribute to art, the environment and one’s of the world’s most vital resources - water. DAY 1, 30 JAN:

Arrival Oslo. Personalized Oslo itinerary
We will plan your day in Oslo based on your profile and preferences. Overnight at a music themed hotel in the city centre.

DAY 2, 31 JAN:

Train from Oslo to Geilo (3,5 hrs). Festival opening.
The Bergen Railway is one of the most beautiful rail journeys in the world as it runs through some of the most wild and unspoiled nature in Norway. We make sure you travel comfortably and arrive in time for the festival opening. Overnight in Geilo at a small historic hotel with modern facilities, traditional food and personality in abundance. Festival opening in the evening.

DAY 3-4, 1-2 FEB:

Ice Music Festival and winter activities
Enjoy the festival program and the local winter activities available. We will help you get out in the ski slopes, cross country trails or maybe try the Norwegian “spark” (kick-sled) or snow shoes. Or maybe an Alaskan Husky Dog Sledding Tour on the iced Ustedalsfjord is more tempting? Up Norway travellers will be invited to take part in ice harvesting and see how natural ice is turned into real instrument. See the full 2018 line up here.

DAY 5, 3 FEB:

Festival ending. Train to Bergen (3 hrs)
Round off the musical program by noon. The journey continues by train to the Gateway city of the fjords, Bergen. Overnight at a charming harbour hotel – the perfect starting point for exploring the city by foot.

DAY 6, 4 FEB:

Personalized Bergen itinerary. Departure Bergen. 
We will plan your day in Bergen based on your profile and preferences. This charming UNESCO Heritage city is rich in both history and culture. The surrounding fjord landscape offers spectacular experiences both summer and winter. You can fly domestically back to Oslo, or get an international flight from Bergen.
