Up is for anyone who wants to travel independently, yet secure in the knowledge that you can easily reach a competent insider if you need to. If you are eager to break new ground, learn, taste, feel and enjoy life, then we’re speaking the same language. Our goal is to make it easy to find the perfect experience in Norway. Our land is rich – not only with oil and fish, but with unique life experiences. We know where to find them. We want to get you out in stunning nature over land and sea, put you in touch with our countrymen and proudly introduce you to our regional cuisine. We want to show you what has shaped us, how we evolved from our Viking ancestry to become a modern democracy and a successful, happy society based on trust and equality.
We collect secret places. We’ll take you off the beaten track and give you access to sites and stories you cannot access on your own and give you time to savour the unexpected moments that define your travel experience.
Just like you, I also love to travel. Not to the most popular attractions and selfie spots, but to where the real experiences are. I often prefer travelling off season and off the beaten track. I harvest unique experiences by carefully selecting where and when I go. I seek genuine people who take pride in what they do and where they are from, and who treat me as their guest rather than just another customer. I explore by challenging my limits, I engage in conversations and indulge in local food and drink.
Up Norway is created with the ambition of offering you experiences such as these. In Norway, the coolest place on earth.
I grew up in the small Norwegian town of Kongsvinger, but have always felt the urge to discover. I have studied and worked in Australia, Thailand, the Maldives, United Arab Emirates, Switzerland and Bhutan. I have had the pleasure of working for companies such as Aman Resorts, Jumeirah Hotels and Anantara Hotels, and met with many travellers. Many of them are curious about Norway, yet have no idea what we have to offer other than fjords, salmon and the Northern Lights. Maybe you’re one of them too? Well, that’s about to change. Up Norway is here to show off what we've really got.

Yes, Norway can be an expensive country, but you don’t have to be rich to travel Up. Our mission is to deliver an experience which matches your interests, whether you’re a hardcore explorer up for a seven-day trek around homespun cabins, or a wellness seeker eager for a luxurious spa break. Quality is always the priority.
Not only do we help you choose, but when your trip is booked, we ensure all the details you need are available right on your phone. Find practical info and navigation tools, and get personal service and tips along the way through our chat service. If you want a local SIM card, we’ll have one ready for you on arrival.
Travelling through Norway and along its shores - the ‘food chamber’ known as the North Sea - really ought to provoke every traveller to dig deep within their soul regarding climate change. Sustainability is ours and a modern travelers’s key concern. True travellers exercise a profound responsibility in doing their part to take care of the future of this most treasured playground: our earth. For us this means selecting partners who work sustainably. It involves slow travel, where you get under the skin of the culture by exploring certain areas in depth rather than leaving shallow footprints along the whole length of the country. We recommend travelling by rail and ferry in certain areas, not just because it’s environmentally friendly, but also because it’s part of the cultural and scenic experience.
