Røros Winter Break

The lucky winner of our Autumn competition was invited to bring a partner for a romantic winter weekend in the former mining town and UNESCO heritage site Røros for a truly frosty fairytale. This is what they have to look forward to:

Travel in comfort (and stay kind to the environment) on the Røros railway line through a spectacular winter landscape. Find yourself thrown back into a bygone era, into the living museum of Røros, with its rows of rustic wooden houses and picturesque streets. Check in to the historic Røros Hotel, where you will stay comfortably and indulge in traditional homemade local food. Your stay includes free access to the hotel's newly opened luxury spa.

On the first night, you’re invited to a private beer tasting at Berkel & Bar followed by dinner at the charming Vertshuset Røros. Dinner on the second evening will take place in the town's oldest cafe, Kaffestuggu

Røros is located on the Røros plateau, and is also an excellent destination for outdoor activities. Our sami friends at Rørosrein will take you on a reindeer sledding journey; a fantastic, high-speed snow experience that requires full concentration in order to stay in the sled. While in Røros, we recommend you do not miss the opportunity to try cross-country skiing and riding on a ‘spark’ (kick-sledge).
