One of Norway’s most celebrated cultural treasures is its thriving live music scene, featuring every conceivable type of music, from jazz, pop and rock to classical and folk. Cool and sophisticated sounds are everywhere, with a diverse range of festivals taking place throughout the year. Natural landscapes such as mountaintops, caverns and lakes metamorphose into stunning outdoor venues and the events are further enhanced with local culinary specialities such as whale wraps, moose burgers and microbrews. Norway will take you deeper into music, and music will take you deeper into Norway!

Norway boasts one of the longest coastlines in the world. According to National Geographic, if you bent its twisting tracery of islets and fjords into a straight line, it would encircle the world two and a half times. Our coastal adventure will not only let you discover our majestic seaside landscape, but also lay bare the rugged environment that shaped Norwegians’ long seafaring history. Go fishing, indulge in locally-sourced seafood, spot the incredible wildlife and come face to face with some of Planet Earth’s most stunning natural wonders.

‘By 2023 Norway will have spent almost NKr3.5bn ($425m) on picnic spots – 250 of them, along 2000 km of road. They offer far more than the odd bench – they are architectural gems, gravity-defying feats of engineering. They make your feet tingle, your jaw drop, your carsickness worse and the average motorway service station seem a distant enemy.’
Financial Times, 4 Nov 2016.

We would love to help you plan a self-drive of discovery along one or more of these 18 acclaimed Scenic Routes. Navigate easily through valleys, past lakes and across mountains using the Up app, comfortable in the knowledge that we will ensure you stop at the most charming hotels and the best places to eat.

Our deeply ingrained hiking tradition has given rise to an extensive network of trails and footpaths across the nation, as well as spectacular hideaways created for summer backpackers and winter skiers. This framework is called simply ‘hytte til hytte’ – ‘hut to hut’. All trekking routes are clearly marked at intervals short enough to see from one mark to the next, even in rain, fog or the occasional storm. The rustic cabins are a pleasure to stay in and make Norway’s wide-open terrain far more accessible. Stocked with wood, gas, food and kitchen equipment, they have a unique charm you won’t find in a five star hotel. Some of the huts are staffed, but most are self-catering. Some even come with a supply of provisions.

Want to meet likeminded people who find true luxury in simple things? We will suggest a trek that’s equal to your abilities, equip you with the info you need to find your way, and even recommend a more luxurious hotel to indulge yourself after days off the beaten track.

PULPIT ROCK & KJERAG TREK
Experience the Norwegian phenomenon 'hytte til hytte' (hut to hut) plus two of Norway's most iconic rock formations.

THE CROW'S CASTLE
The greatest escape: deep in a forest, up in a hut among the treetops.

Every kind of on- and off-road cycling, mountain biking, downhill and even fat biking has boomed in Norway over the last few years. Our hilly roads, rough terrain and changeable weather makes for more challenging cycling than you find in southern European countries, and we take pride in conquering new roads and trails. We can recommend a two-wheeled experience according to your preferred location and skill level. Get close to nature, feel the adrenaline and enjoy the ride!
